What We Believe
*We Believe in the Triune nature of God, being embodied in God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son (i.e. the Word of God), and the Holy Spirit, each being distinct yet equal in nature and divinity (1 John 5:7).
*We Believe that Jesus Christ was crucified at Calvary for the sins of ALL men, past, present, and future (Hebrews 10:12). That if one confesses with their mouth the Lordship of Jesus Christ over their life, believes in their heart that Christ Jesus was raised from the dead, and died for their sins, then s/he is saved (Romans 10:9-10).
*We Believe that salvation is by Grace (i.e. God’s unmerited, unearned favor towards man) through faith (i.e. confident expectation and trust) in Christ Jesus alone for the remission of man’s sin. This atoning work of God through Christ Jesus, cannot be accomplished by any works of man, only through faith in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21 & Ephesians 2:8-9). ONLY through faith in Jesus’ atoning sacrifice can anyone be saved from the effects of sin (Mark 10:26-27). For the unsaved, the ultimate result is death, i.e. eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23).
*We Believe that upon trusting in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior, one is then baptized with the Holy Spirit and sealed unto the Day of Redemption (Ephesians 1:13-14 & 4:30).
*We Believe that there is ONE baptism of the Holy Spirit, which secures salvation in Jesus Christ. Although water baptism is encouraged, it is not a pre-requisite of salvation. That only comes through faith in Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit seals this redemptive work by residing in the heart of every believer (Matthew 28:19, 1 Corinthians 12:13, & Ephesians 4:4-6).
*We Believe in Sola Scriptura, Latin, for “Scripture alone.” That is the Holy Bible is the infallible, inerrant, Word of God to man, through the Holy Spirit’s complete and uninhibited influence as Author through the human writers (2 Peter 1:20-21). Additionally, the Holy Bible is the first and final authority pertaining to ALL matters of life and Godliness for the Body of Christ. Only through complete yielding to its authority can the Body of Christ, i.e. the Church, be “thoroughly equipped for EVERY good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 & 2 Peter 1:3). The entire canon of Scripture, the Holy Bible, reveals ALL that God wills and has said to man. NOTHING should be added or removed from the closed canon of Scripture as it is composed in the Holy Bible (Deuteronomy 4:2, 12:32 & Revelation 22:18-19).
*We Believe that God instituted marriage between a man (Adam) and a woman (Eve). We do not support any other type of union for lack of Biblical support, and the Holy Bible admonishes any other such union. We believe that God is opposed to divorce except for situations dealing with adultery and marital abandonment. We promote forgiveness and reconciliation between couples (Malachi 2:10-16, Matthew 18:21-22, 19:1-15, Mark 10:1-12, 1 Corinthians 7:10-11).
*We Believe that the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and the offices of the Church that remain open in this age of the Church, are for the equipping of the Saints for ministry. This brings forth the total maturation and unity of the Body of Christ Jesus, i.e. the Church. The Holy Spirit distributes the gifts of the Spirit as He wills (1 Corinthians 12:11), yet no office or gift in and of itself is more vital or important than another. Each has its distinct purpose, and ALL are given for the benefit and growth of the Body of Christ, the Church (1 Corinthians 12: 4-7).
*We Believe that the Body of Christ, is a body, whose members are those who have received Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior, and that Jesus Christ, i.e. the Word of God made flesh (John 1 :14), is the Head and directs ALL which pertains to the body. (Ephesians 1 :22-23)
*We Believe that the foundation for the church is and always has been Jesus Christ, the Word of God (.John 1:1-4). Jesus Christ is the “Chief Cornerstone” (Ephesians 2:20). Today the Church continues to build upon the foundation laid by Jesus Christ, the Apostles, and the Prophets. (Ephesians 2:20-22) Through sound doctrine, the Body of Christ continues to build upon that foundation, and is properly “fitted together” (Ephesians 2:21 & 1 Peter 2:1-8).
*We Believe that in Christ Jesus there is NO schism (1 Corinthians 12:25), yet ALL of God’s children are one as we abide in Christ Jesus.
